Your IP got blocked or banned? Here is how to unblock it

IP blocks can occur due to various reasons, including spamming, unauthorized link posting, excessive web scraping, or accessing geo-restricted content. If your IP was temporarily blocked or banned, all you might need to do is wait for the block to be lifted. If you don’t know when the block will be lifted or if you’re in a position where you can’t wait, you can try the following methods:

Utilize VPN

  1. Download and install a reliable VPN. We recommend using NordVPN.
  2. Select a server location that is geographically close to you.
  3. Connect to the VPN to bypass the IP ban.

Clear Digital Footprint

  1. Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
  2. Delete any residual program data from relevant folders.
  3. Clean up registry entries related to the blocked application or website.

Modify MAC Address

  1. Access network settings
  2. Change adapter options
  3. Configure network address
  4. Generate and apply new MAC address

IP Blocking while Web Scraping?

  1. Use a proxy. We recommend using ISP proxies (for speed) or mobile proxy services (for reliability).
  2. Use a VPN.
  3. Use a web scraper service that takes care of rotating IP addresses for you like Firecrawl.

Proxies are often considered the most effective tool for bypassing blocks due to their ability to mask IP addresses and provide access to geo-restricted content. They offer a wide range of IP addresses and locations, making it difficult for websites to detect and block automated activities.

To avoid the hassle of IP blocks during web scraping, consider using a service like Firecrawl. It automatically rotates proxies, eliminating the need to manage the complexities of web scraping yourself.
